Pedigree Highlights

Classic winning sire Lemon Drop Kid, champion older male in 2000 and winner of the 1999 Belmont Stakes (G1) earned $3,245,370 during his racing career. To date, he has sired 35 stakes winners including Grade 1 winners Citronnade, Lemons Forever, and Christmas Kid, and Grade 3 winners Cosmonaut and Kiss the Kid.

Dam Charitabledonation was a stakes winner who date has had only two foals to race. Charitable Man is her first winner.

The family is highlighted by fourth dam Bald Facts, a winning sister to stakes winner American Standard but more notably a half sister to 1986 champion two-year-old male Capote, winner of the 1986 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1); Prix Royal-Oak-French St. Leger (Fr-G1) winner and sire Exceller; Grade 3 winner and sire Vaguely Hidden; and stakes winning sire Baldski.

Quotable

Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin, after Charitable Man worked on May 23 at Belmont Park:

"It's great to think he's by Lemon Drop Kid, who won a mile and a half race here. We'll keep our fingers crossed for the next two weeks. We've always had a lot of confidence in this colt; it's a shame we weren't ready for the first Saturday in May, but he'll be ready for the first Saturday in June."
