Contender Status

Yankee Bravo is scheduled to ship to Pimlico Race Course from trainer Patrick Gallagher's Southern California barn on May 14.

"He’s doing fine," Gallagher said. "He raced in Europe as a two-year-old and one of the owners, Richard Duggan, showed me a video of him. I liked what I saw and that is how we came to own him.”

Recent Works

May 8 - Seven furlongs handily in 1:24.20 at Hollywood Park, all-weather track fast. Best of two workouts at the distance.

May 1 - Six furlongs handily in 1:12.40 at Hollywood Park, all-weather track fast. Second best of nine workouts at the distance.

Future Plans

Quotable

Trainer Paddy Gallagher on Yankee Bravo, whose last race was a fourth place finish in the Santa Anita Derby (G1):

"The Santa Anita Derby was an exciting race to be in and a little disappointing. Alex Solis has great belief. He believes he can get a mile and an eighth and further so that's why we're going to try the Preakness."
