Purchase Info

Originally consigned as a weanling to 2005 Keeneland November breeding stock sale by Dream Chase Farm, agent, and purchased for $40,000 by Simmons Bloodstock.

Subsequently consigned to July 2006 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky select yearling sale by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, and purchased for $485,000 by Zayat Stables.

Pedigree Highlights

Kafwain's two-year-olds last year represented his first crop, and precocity seems to be a part of his heritage.

Kafwain himself won the 2002 Norfolk Stakes (G2), a major two-year-old race, while his sire, Cherokee Run, is also the sire of War Pass, last year's champion two-year-old male.

Massive Drama continued this tradition of precocity last year by winning the Hollywood Prevue Stakes (G3).

The colt is the first foal to race out of the Slewacide mare Peyvon, a stakes winner and earner of $137,027.

Slewacide is the broodmare sire of Funny Cide.
