Stormy Atlantic colt shines at OBS under-tack show

Atlantic Bull, a Stormy Atlantic colt, completed the fastest quarter-mile drill on Saturday during the first of two under-tack shows for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March sale of selected two-year-olds in training.
A half brother to unbeaten Southwest (G3) and San Rafael (G3) Stakes winner Conveyance, Atlantic Bull covered two furlongs in :21.20. Consigned by Derby Dreams, agent, Atlantic Bull is out of the placed Holy Bull mare Emptythetill.
Cataloged as Hip #102, Atlantic Bull was an $80,000 purchase by Just for Fun Stables from the consignment of Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, at the 2009 Keeneland September yearling sale.
Five two-year-olds completed the fastest one-furlong move on Saturday, covering an eighth of a mile in :10.20.
Three fillies covered the distance in :10.20: a Forest Wildcat filly consigned by Flying Fish, agent; a With Distinction filly consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farm, agent; and an Orientate filly consigned by Nick de Meric, agent.
A Smart Strike colt consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent, who is a half brother to stakes winner Holiday Runner, was the first of two colts to complete a furlong in :10.20. He was joined later by a Congaree colt, consigned by McKathan Bros., agent.
Saturday’s under-tack show featured two-year-olds scheduled to go through the auction ring on Tuesday. The second session of the under-tack show will start at 8 a.m. EDT on Sunday for horses scheduled to go through the ring on Wednesday. Tuesday’s opening session begins at 2 p.m.
