Inglis second session sees sharp increases

The one-day second session of the Inglis Premier yearling sale ended on Thursday with a sharp increases in total sales and average price compared with last year’s corresponding session.
The sales company reported 108 horses as sold for total receipts of $2,708,055 ($3,001,500 Australian), a 49.4% increase. The average price of $25,075 ($27,792 Australian) was up 46.6%.
The session brought the Premier sale to a conclusion as more than $28,420,368 ($31.5-million Australian) was traded during the four-day sale.
“This is a tremendous result and just reward for our vendors who have committed a wonderful team of young horses to this year’s sale,” Inglis Director Peter Heagney said.
“Melbourne graduates have proven themselves to be world-class racehorses, and I’m certain that buyers from this year’s sale will be reaping those same rewards in the coming seasons.”
Topping the final day was Ultra Thoroughbreds’ Stravinsky colt out of stakes-winner Radio Sky, by Kreisler. The bay colt, who is from the family of 2008-‘09 New Zealand Horse of the Year and champion sprinter Mufhasa, was purchased by Greg Eurell for $108,268 ($120,000 Australian).
