Tattersalls catalogs 950 for December foal sale

Tattersalls Ltd. has cataloged 950 weanlings for its December foal sale, which is slated for November 25 through November 28.
The catalog is available online at www.tattersalls.com.
All of the current top 20 active sires in Great Britain and Ireland have foals cataloged, including Cape Cross (Ire) with 19, Dalakhani (11), Danehill Dancer (nine), Dansili (GB) (three), Exceed And Excel (13), Galileo (Ire) (six), Invincible Spirit (eight), and Montjeu (Ire) (two).
The leading first-crop sires all are also represented with the current top four, Shamardal, Dubawi, Oratorio (Ire), and Footstepsinthesand, represented by 23, 13, ten, and two foals respectively.
“This year's Tattersalls December foal sale looks set to be a quality renewal,” Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said. “The catalog has strength and depth and the recent October yearling sales produced encouraging returns for the pinhookers.”
The December foal sale was bolstered this year by Group 1 victories by 2006 graduate Fame And Glory, ‘05 graduate Aqlaam, and ’04 graduate Presvis. Fame And Glory won the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (Ire-G1) among three groups stakes wins this season.
“In addition to the pinhooking successes, it has been another highly successful year for those purchasing foals to race with the likes of Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory and Group 1 Prix du Moulin [de Longchamp (Fr-G1)] winner Aqlaam advertising the December foal sale at the highest-level throughout Europe.”
