Goffs hires Clancy as American representative

The Irish sale company Goffs has appointed racing journalist Sean Clancy as a company representative in the United States.

Clancy and his brother, Joe, own ST Publishing, which produces the Saratoga Special, Steeplechase Times, and the Special at Keeneland. Sean Clancy has won numerous awards as a writer—he recently received the Maryland Jockey Club’s David F. Woods Memorial award for the third time in five years for his coverage of the Preakness Stakes (G1) as a correspondent for Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred.

Clancy also is an owner and former Steeplechase jockey. He recently purchased two horses in the Goffs Dundalk breeze-up sale.

“Sean’s appointment will undoubtedly enhance Goffs’ strong team of overseas representatives,” Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said. “Sean’s vast knowledge of the U.S. racing and breeding industries will allow Goffs to strengthen existing relationships in the U.S. market and to forge new ones, and we look forward to welcoming him and our American clients to future Goffs sales.”
