Evangeline Downs reported 172 horses as sold during the one-day sale for total receipts of $1,826,600, a 4% increase compared with last year, when 192 horses sold for $1,757,000. Average increased 16% to $10,619, compared with $9,151 last year.

Harold Forman went to $100,000 to secure the sale-topping Leestown colt. Named Lee City Slew, the Louisiana-bred colt out of the winning Carson City mare Rosie City was consigned by Clear Creek Stud LLC, agent for Valene Farm. The colt is a full brother to multiple stakes winner Equestrian Girls.
