Forest Wildcat filly works fastest eighth at OBSC
Seekingthediamond, a Forest Wildcat filly, turned in the fastest one-furlong breeze and three colts tied for the fastest quarter-mile move at the first under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s March sale of selected two-year-olds in training on March 18-19.
The dark bay or brown filly, out of the winning Seeking the Gold mare Seeking Success, breezed one furlong in :9.80. Consigned by Hendry Training Stables, agent, Seekingthediamond hails from the immediate family of multiple Grade 1 winner Classy Cathy and multiple Grade 3 winner and sire Sports View.
A Put It Back colt, a Lion Heart colt, and a Pure Prize colt tied for the fastest quarter-mile breeze, covering the distance in :21.20.
The Put It Back colt is out of the unraced Defrere mare Pat’s Sister. The Florida-bred chestnut colt is from the consignment of M & H Training and Sales, agent, and is from the family of Grade 1 winner Music Merci.
Named Gran Patron, the Lion Heart colt is a half brother to multiple graded stakes-placed winner Mahzouz. Gran Patron is one of seven foals out of the winning Affirmed mare Prosper, a half sister to Grade 1-placed winner Dearly Loved. The chestnut colt is from the consignment of Tony Bowling and Bobby Dodd, agent.
Named Diplomatic Code, the Pure Prize colt is out of stakes-placed winner Revealing Blush, by Diplomatic Jet. Revealing Blush is a half sister to stakes winner Out Our Way and stakes-placed winner Condensed Version. Consigned by Murray Smith, agent, the Florida-bred chestnut colt hails from the immediate family of champion sprinter and sire Precisionist.
The OBSC breeze shows originally were scheduled for March 7 and March 8 but were postponed due to forecasts of severe weather. Hip numbers 231 through 460 will breeze during the second and final under-tack show on Monday, beginning at 9 a.m. EDT.
