The Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. postponed Friday and Saturday’s under-tack shows for the March Sale of selected two-year-olds in training due to predictions of severe weather.

Heavy rain and wind has been predicted, and Ocala was under a tornado watch Friday morning.

“The track is open now, but it just looked too risky to go forward. We didn’t want to get midway through the show and have something happen,” said OBSC General Manager Tom Ventura. “The under-tack preview will be rescheduled for Sunday, March 9, and Monday, March 10 at 9 a.m. [EDT].”

Hip numbers 1 through 230 were scheduled to breeze on Friday, and numbers 231 through 460 on Saturday. All under-tack sessions will be streamed live at www.obssales.com.

The second set of under-tack shows remains scheduled for March 14-15, beginning at 9 a.m. The OBSC sale is March 18-19.
