Black Mambo colt works fastest three furlongs at OBCS show
A Black Mambo colt breezed three furlongs in :33.40 on Friday, the fastest clocking for the distance at the fourth and final under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s spring sale of two-year-olds in training.
Michael Yates’s Shadybrook Farm, agent, consigned the bay colt, who is out of Willa, by Mountain Cat.
Robert Smith Racing and Sales, agent, consigned Spring Mountain, a Monashee Mountain colt who breezed two furlongs in :21, Friday’s fastest move at the distance. The bay colt is out of Spring, by Stravinsky.
Eight juveniles tied for the fastest eighth-mile breeze of :10. They include two fillies consigned by Terry Oliver’s and Bo Hunt’s O&H Bloodstock, agent—a Northern Afleet filly out of the Dayjur mare Singapore Sting and a Deputy Wild Cat filly out of That’s Amore, by Danzatore.
W.D. North Thoroughbreds consigned Lottaexpectations, a Littleexpectations colt out of Snooker, by Pool Court, who equaled the time as did an Officer filly out of Spanish Glitter, by Glitterman, consigned by Jennifer Maselli, agent; and a City Zip filly out of Sugar Cake, by Forest Wildcat, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent.
Others equaling the time were a Posse filly out of Sweet Tejano, by Tejano, who was consigned by Becky Thomas’s Sequel Bloodstock, agent; an Orientate colt out of Violet Lady, by Seattle Slew, consigned by Ricky Leppala, agent; and a Cuvee colt out of Wacissa, by Boundary, consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables, agent.
Hips 1,037 through 1,381 breezed on Friday and will be offered during the final day of the four-day sale on April 24. The sale begins April 21. Sale sessions start at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
