Magic Millions yearling sale concludes

A Mull of Kintyre colt and a Markane filly sold for $37,449 ($41,000 Australian) to top the eighth and final session of the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions yearling sale on Australia’s Gold Coast on Wednesday.

American pinhooker John Brocklebank bought the Mull of Kintyre colt out of the Geiger Counter mare Special Geiger, from the consignment of Yarramalong Park.

Noel Fuller signed the ticket for the Markane filly out of 13-time winner Avon Jewel, by Just Awesome. Brown Place Pty Ltd., agent, consigned the chestnut filly.

Combining sessions seven and eight, Magic Millions reported 262 horses as sold from 333 offered for total receipts of $2,889,085 ($3,163,000 Australian). Average price was $11,027 ($12,073 Australian). The buy-back rate was 21.3 %.

Final statistics for the entire sale will be available Thursday.
