Fleet Indian, the champion older female of 2006, failed to meet her reserve on a final bid of $3.9-million on Monday afternoon in the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent for owner Paul Saylor, the six-year-old Indian Charlie mare out of Hustleeta, by Afleet, is in foal to Storm Cat.
Dapple Bloodstock bought Fleet Indian on Saylor’s behalf for $290,000 in the 2006 Keeneland January horse of all ages sale. She was a listed stakes winner at the time.
Saylor transferred Fleet Indian to trainer Todd Pletcher, and she reeled off six consecutive wins in 2006, including the Personal Ensign (G1) and Beldame (G1) Stakes, before sustaining a career-ending injury in the Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1).
