Group 2 winner Aghnoyoh tops Goffs Arc sale

Multiple group winner Aghnoyoh, a German-bred three-year-old son of Local Suitor, landed a final bid of approximately $461,225 (3.3-million French francs) to top the Goffs France Arc sale of horses of racing age at Saint-Cloud on October 6.

Guy Armengol, agent, was listed as the buyer of the colt, who has won five of 16 career starts with two seconds and five thirds and has earned $152,782.

Produced by the Lyphard mare Aghniyah, Aghnoyoh won this year's Prix de la Jonchere (Fr-G3) at Chantilly, the Grosse Karstadt-Meile (Ger-G2) at Cologne, and Prix Omnium II at Saint-Cloud. He has also placed in five other stakes events, including a third in the Mehl-Muelhens-Rennen (German Two Thousand Guineas) (Ger-G2) at Cologne.

Goffs reported sales on 32 of the 56 horses offered in the sale for a total of $2,124,428 and an average of $37,936. Both gross and average declined from the last year, when 48 horses were sold.

Dual Group 1 winner Belenus, a five-year-old German-bred son of Lomitas (GB) out of Beaute, by Lord Udo, was bought back on a final bid of $83,859 (600,000 French francs).
