Gino's Spirits tops early Wednesday Keeneland returns at $550,000

Grade 3 winner Gino's Spirits (GB), listed as a racing or broodmare prospect, landed a final bid of $550,000 to top the early returns at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale through 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent, the five-year-old daughter of the winning Danzig stallion Perugino was purchased by Klaus Jacob's English-based Newsells Park Stud.

Gino's Spirits has won nine of 33 career starts, including the Bryan Station Stakes at Keeneland on October 19, and has earned $398,627. Her resume includes her triumph in last year's Noble Damsel Handicap (G3) at Belmont Park.

She is out of the Cure the Blues mare Rising Spirits (Ire), a half sister to Irish highweight Citidancer (Ire).

Newsells purchased another high-priced racing or broodmare prospect on November 4 at the Fasig-Tipton November selected mixed sale when the operation bought the sale topper, Grade 1 Stormy Pick, for $600,000.
