Stakes-producer tops final Deauville session

Lattaquie (Fr), a half sister to three stakes winners and the dam of French hurdle stakes winner Bounce Back, landed a final bid of $66,542 (490,000 French francs) to top the final session of the L'Agence Francaise Deauville December mixed sale on Monday in Deauville, France.

Agent Eric Puerari secured the session topper, an 11-year-old daughter of Fast Topaze who was sold in foal to multiple Group 1 winner Trempolino. Out of Lady Sharp (Fr), by Sharpman, Lattaquie is a half sister to Grade 2 winner Lady Blessington (Fr), Group 3 winner Lowell, and multiple stakes winner Red Cat.

Deauville officials reported sales on 101 of the 179 horses offered in the final session on Monday for a total of $847,728, an average of $8,393.

Overall, 502 of the 814 horses offered were sold during the three-day sale for a total of $7,351,096, an average of $14,644.

The sale's top-priced horse was sold during the opening session when Chantilly Bloodstock went to $230,786 (1.7-million French francs) for stakes winner Bayourida, who was sold in foal to European highweight Anabaa.
