Valid Expectations colt brings $60,000 at Fasig-Tipton Texas mixed sale

A weanling colt by Valid Expectations brought a final bid of $60,000 from Tom Durant to top the Fasig-Tipton Texas mixed sale at Lone Star Park on Sunday.

Consigned by Roger Daly, agent, for the dispersal of Kellie Creek Farm, the colt is out of the stakes-winning Lord Vancouver mare Vany and is a half brother to multiple stakes winner Miss Running Vany, who has produced stakes winner Running Copelan and stakes-placed Valid Runner.

Total receipts and average were down from last year's Fasig-Tipton Texas mixed sale, which was held in January. A total of 143 horses were sold this year for total receipts of $534,000, an average of $3,736. Last year, 173 horses were sold for gross receipts of $700,600, an average of $4,050.
