Mare in foal to Giant's Causeway tops Tattersalls session at $970,174

Kylemore, who was listed as pregnant to Giant's Causeway, landed a final bid of $970,174 (650,000 guineas) to top the second day of the four-day Tattersalls December mares sale at Newmarket on Tuesday.Consigned by John Troy, agent, the three-year-old unplaced daughter of Sadler's Wells was sold to the Swordlestown Stud. Out of the Group 1-winning Desert Wine mare Flamenco Wave, Kylemore is a full sister to Group 1 winners Aristotle and Ballingarry and a half sister to three other stakes winners.

Tattersalls reported sales on 202 horses for gross receipts of $19,863,933 (13,308,500 guineas) and an average of $98,337 (65,884 guineas). The next session of the sale begins on Wednesday.
