Group 2 winner Miletrian brings $1,047,743 at Tattersalls
Miletrian, highweighted last year on the English Free Handicap, attracted a final bid of approximately $1,047,743 (700,000 English guineas) to top the first session of the four-day Tattersalls December mares sale on Monday in Newmarket, England.Consigned by West Ilsley Stables, the four-year-old Irish-bred daughter of Marju was purchased by Eaton Sales. She has won three of 21 career starts, including last year's Ribblesdale Stakes (Eng-G2) at Ascot, and has earned $228,790. She was last of 14 in her most recent effort in the Harvest Stakes on September 28 at Ascot.
Miletrian is out of the unraced Dancing Brave mare Warg, a half sister to 1978 English Horse of the Year and Irish champion three-year-old Shirley Heights. She is a half sister to Group 2 winner Mr. Combustible.
Tattersalls reported sales on 194 horses during the session for a total of $12,389,404 and an average of 63,863.
