Turfway Prevue Stakes winner Mr. Prankster closed from last to take a clear lead in early stretch and powered to a 7½-length romp in the $50,000 WEBN Stakes on Saturday at Turfway Park.

The bay colt from the second crop of It’s No Joke reeled in 2.30-to-1 second betting choice Phantom Fury with a sweeping bid into the stretch under John McKee. Mr. Prankster rallied from more than seven lengths off the pace to prevail as the 1.90-to-1 favorite in 1:39.18 for one mile on the synthetic Polytrack surface.

Stakes-placed at two for co-owners Tom Conway and trainer Mike Maker, Mr. Prankster improved to two wins in as many starts in 2012. He entered off a 3½-length strike in the Turfway Prevue on January 7.

Conway plucked Mr. Prankster out of the 2011 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June two-year-olds in training sale for $40,000. The half brother to stakes winner Atticus Jack is out of the Avenue of Flags mare Cremedelacramer.
