Boys At Tosconova aims to keep rolling in Hopeful

Jay Em Ess Stable’s Boys At Tosconova scored by a visually impressive 12 lengths in his previous outing in a five-furlong maiden special weight race at Belmont Park.
The dark bay or brown Officer colt will try to duplicate that performance in stakes company as he faces six challengers in the $250,000 Three Chimneys Hopeful Stakes (G1) on Monday, closing day of the Saratoga Race Course summer meeting.
Boys At Tosconova made his career debut in the Kentucky Juvenile Stakes (G3) on April 30 at Churchill Downs for owners Todd Cady, Denny Kanakaris, and Richard Hale, and trainer Robert Hess.
Bought privately by the Siegel family’s Jay Em Ess Stable and transferred to the barn of trainer Richard Dutrow Jr., Boys At Tosconova dominated his next start on July 2 to win in a romp for his new connections.
George and Lori Hall’s Nacho Saint does not have a victory from his first three starts but does have a second-place finish in graded stakes company.
The chestnut Yes It’s True colt, who is cross-entered for the Sapling Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Monmouth, finished second behind Maybesomaybenot in the six-furlong Sanford Stakes (G2) on July 25 at the Spa in his most recent effort.
Two colts enter the seven-furlong race off impressive debut victories.
J. Kirk and Judy Roberson’s Wine Police won by 7¾ lengths in a 5½-furlong maiden special weight race on July 24 at Saratoga for trainer Steve Asmussen.
Klaravich Stables’ and W. H. Lawrence’s Printing Press, trained by Teresa Pompay, edged Bert B Don by a neck in a 5½-furlong maiden special weight race on August 8 at Monmouth Park.
Stay Thirsty and Settle for Medal also enter off victories in their previous outings.
Repole Stable’s Stay Thirsty, trained by Todd Pletcher, ran off to a 5½-length victory in a six-furlong maiden special weight race on August 14, while Mark Grier’s Settle for Medal captured a six-furlong maiden special weight race by two lengths on July 31, both at Saratoga.
