Argentina’s reigning Horse of the Year, Interaction (Arg), will be pointed to the 2011 Dubai International Racing Carnival by trainer Pascal Bary.
The four-year-old Easing Along colt, winner of the Carlos Pellegrini (Arg-G1) last December, is currently based in France. Bary said Interaction will be pointed to the Al Maktoum Challenge Round 2 (UAE-G3) on February 3 as a prep toward a possible start in the Emirates Airline Dubai World Cup (UAE-G1) on March 26 at Meydan Racecourse.
"I do not think to run in the first one," said Bary in reference to Round 1. "I prefer to go to Dubai with him at the beginning of January in order to run the second and third round, with hope to qualify for the World Cup."
Bary also trained Gloria de Campeao (Brz), last year’s winner of the Dubai World Cup. Gloria de Campeao won the Invasor Shadwell Farm Al Maktoum Challenge – Round 1 (UAE-G3) and finished second in the Derrinstown Stud Intikhab Al Maktoum Challenge – Round 3 (UAE-G2) prior to winning the Dubai World Cup.
Interaction most recently finished seventh in the Prix de Boulogne at Longchamp, his European debut, on September 1. Bary removed Interaction from a scheduled start in the Prix du Conseil de Paris (Fr-G2) on October 17 after the colt spiked a temperature.
"He won’t be running on Sunday, October 17," Bary said. "This is not the only reason—the grounds are very heavy. We have had a lot of rain the last two weeks."
