Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Zenyatta drilled six furlongs handily in 1:12.60 on Thursday morning as she gets ready for a possible start in the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1) on August 7 at Del Mar.

According to Daily Racing Form, Zenyatta worked with stablemates Sarbonne and Green Cat, who was clocked in 1:13. Sarbonne did not receive an official time.

“It was brilliant," jockey Mike Smith told the Form. “It reminded me of her work before the Classic. She seems to be really back on.”

The two-time champion older female covered six furlongs in 1:12.40 in company with Green Cat on October 31, a week before she became the first female to prevail in the Classic.

Undefeated in 17 career starts, Zenyatta won the Clement L. Hirsch in 2008 and ’09.

To Rebekah, of Greensboro, NC: I couldn't agree with you more! And, to these people posting themselves as God, come on, grow up. We all know Zenyatta is awesome. You should stop proving your immaturity to the world-No one really cares, although maybe it's a little funny. The first "God" comment I saw, I thought the person writing it must be on crack or something, but now that there's more, maybe not. Or maybe there's just a bunch of crack heads posting comments on TBTimes? Which could it be? LOL.

On another note, I love all the horses, but my particular favorite colts are Big Brown, Bernardini, Curlin, and Invasor. (Not to mention Secretariat and Affirmed) My favorite fillies are Rags To Riches, Rachel Alexandra, Zenyatta, Winning Colors and of course legendary Ruffian.

Zenyatta is my horse, I speak from above, she is my gift to the horse racing world..

..."let's see how good she (Zenyatta) really is.."

Are you kidding me?

She's 17 for 17, the last 15 in either Grade 1 or 2 races, just beat Citation and Cigar's consecutive winning streak in non-inbred races, has won 7 Grade 1 races in a row, has beaten the winners of 45 Grade 1 races and over 100 stakes overall, has beaten five divisional champions, four Eclipse Award Champions, two Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic Champions, has carried 129 lbs. twice and 128 lbs. twice.

She has been called "The Perfect Racehorse" by Eclipse Award winning journalist Joe Drape of the New York Times.

She has been called "The Horse of the Century" by Claire Novak of the ESPN.com.

She was just recently voted the greatest filly or mare in the last 50 years in a recent Bloodhorse poll by almost doubling the number of first place votes over Ruffian.

And just recently this is what has happened to the horses that Zenyatta has beaten:

Awesome Gem whom finished seventh behind Zenyatta in the Classic just won the Hollywood Gold Cup. He joins Seabiscuit, Citation, Swaps, Round Table, Gallant Man, Affirmed, Cigar, Skip Away, Real Quiet in it's history.

Twice Over whom finished behind Zenyatta in the Classic just won the Eclipse in England. He joins Sea The Stars, Dancing Brave, Mill Reef, and Pebbles in it's history.

Gio Ponti whom finished behind Zenyatta also in the Classic just won the Man O'War. He joins Secretariat and Curlin (though finished second) in it's history.

Then you have the saga of St. Trinians. This is a horse that had won four at Santa Anita including the Grade 1 Santa Maria and was the morning line favorite for the Santa Anita Handicap.

Because of her gutsy try against Zenyatta in the recent Vanity, she now has to take the rest of the year off to recuperate. Her trainer, Mike Mitchell, puts the blame squarely on taking on Zenyatta.

How good she really is? I think she has already answered that.

I've read some of the comments left by "TB racing fans" and I'm left scratching my head. TB's are animals. They don't care about the grade of the race or the size of the competition. They're out there running their hearts out because that what their bred to do. They don't give a hoot about the purse or the favorite. Some days they don't feel as sharp but they'll still give it their all and you people are bashing and insulting one another over a man made competition. Even if both mares meet, the best won't necessarily win. The trainers do their best to have the horses ready for each and every race but the horses can't exactly call them up and tell them that they may not be 100%. Why can't we love all the horses in racing from last place to first. They are beautibul, magnificent animals that aren't given a choice on their careers but they still give it their all every single day. I admire winners and losers alike and I must say more than I like these trashy comments.

ST. TRininas is better than anything Ra has faced in 2009, and 2010. You see, Ra cant even win a race agaisnt the grade 2 older females, and the males she faced last year were not much other than SB, so you apparently need to do some studying before you post again...........Janedee, read up and let me kknow were all the males are that RA beat last year , let me know about the woodward boys and let me know the last race since last year they have won in, I will make it easy for you , none, they are like RA they cant hit the board this year in graded races. one just retired because he couldnt hit the board. Furthermore, let me know how many races RA won last year agaisnt older females. Let me know were all the males she beat last year , compare what they are doing now compared to the BCC field that Zen beat last NOv. in the BCc......you will be shocked, the BCC field is flourishing this year. go read and get back to me.

Janedee, Zenyatta came back from a long lay off last year after running seven consecutive races and winning all of them and the last one being the Breeders Cup Ladies distaff in Oct of that year, Zenyatta has beeen winning and continues to win even after her big year in 08, she came back in 09 after her long lay off too . doing what she always does, WIN, WIN. So dont give us the RA sob story , it dont work, she just aint as good as Zenyatta and her owner knows it......JJ ducked zenyatta all last year and this year too.
