Illinois ADW players may miss out on top summer meets

Posted: Tuesday, July 20, 2010 11:50 AM

by Frank Angst

Several advance-deposit wagering outlets report that their Illinois customers will not be able to wager on several top summer meetings, including Del Mar and Saratoga Race Course, because of a new Illinois Racing Board amendment.

The new Illinois regulation requires out-of-state tracks to charge ADW outlets in the state no more than a 5% fee for their racing signals. Tracks that charge higher rates will not be available, with the possible exception of Grade 1 races.

Tracks listed by XPressBet.com or TwinSpires.com that will not be available include Calder Race Course, Del Mar, Laurel Park, Louisiana Downs, Saratoga Race Course, and others.

The Illinois amendment became effective on July 12.

OMG!!! Who are the members on the IRB? Most likely a bunch of numbskulls who know nothing about horseracing! The harness racing scene in Illinois is pathetic!!! To look in the Sun-Times and see the purse for a harness race in Chicago at $1,800.00 makes me want to cry!! Now it's too late for the track owners to get slots...They waited too damn long!!!

what if you put your address as your parent that were out of state and signed up for a new account. I wonder if that would work?

Bodog does work but you have to buy the program..always a way around something...

I live in Illinois and this is a bunch of bull! I can't even bet my home tracks or the tracks I like. The State of Illinois is useless. We need to vote the Gov out in November!!!!
