In the $100,000 Azalea Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Calder Race Course, Terra Di Sienna Stables’ Pica Slew, with jockey Manoel Cruz in the irons, swept past front-runner Rapport in midstretch and held off a belated run by Grade 3 winner Buckleupbuttercup for a two-length victory.

Pica Slew covered the six-furlong distance in 1:11.12 for trainer Joseph Calascibetta while winning her third consecutive race.

Pica Slew, a three-year-old Pico Central (Brz) filly, came into her race off a stakes victory at Calder, where she won the Leave Me Alone Stakes on June 12.

Out of the unraced Seattle Slew mare Maggie O’Slew, Pica Slew has now earned $160,487.
