Jose Luis Flores records milestone 4,000th career win

Jose Luis Flores guided Abulletforfrank to a front-running 6 1/2-length romp in the third race at Philadelphia Park on Saturday to record his 4,000th career victory.

Abulletforfrank was unchallenged on the lead and extended her advantage in the stretch to prevail as the 6-to-5 favorite and secure the milestone win for Flores.

Flores has been riding professionally in North America since 1987 and his mounts have amassed $42,835,258 in purse earnings.

Flores rode Loaded Gun to three stakes wins in 1999, including a victory in the $200,000 Philadelphia Park Breeders’ Cup Handicap (G3) for his only career graded stakes win. Flores also won the Gallant Bob Handicap in 2001 with Sea of Green and in ’02 with Thunderello.

Last year, Flores rode Dulce Realidad to a pair of stakes wins, including a victory in the $200,000 Jostle Stakes.
