Lanzman purchases interest in Stardom Bound

After selling a half-interest in Gotham Stakes (G3) winner I Want Revenge to IEAH Stables, David Lanzman has purchased 25% of champion Stardom Bound from IEAH and partners.

Lanzman and IEAH will campaign the five-time Grade 1 winner with Paul Pompa Jr., Michael Dubb, and Golden Goose Enterprises. The purchase price was not announced.

Stardom Bound will seek her sixth straight Grade 1 victory on Saturday in the $400,000 Ashland Stakes (G1) at Keeneland Race Course. I Want Revenge is slated for the $750,000 Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) the same day at Aqueduct.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this great filly’s 2009 campaign,” Lanzman said. “She’s an amazingly talented filly and we are expecting a big effort from her in next weekend’s Ashland Stakes. We’re looking forward to the thrill of running a starter in both of the industry’s two biggest races for three year-olds at this year’s [Kentucky Oaks (G1) and Kentucky Derby (G1)].”  

IEAH and partners bought Stardom Bound from Charles Cono for $5.7-million at the 2008 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky selected fall mixed sale, days after her victory in the Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). She has earned $1,780,600.
