Free Country, Danger to Society win Gulfstream 3yo races

Free Country stalked the pace and drove to a narrow win under Kent Desormeaux in the sixth race, an allowance race for three-year-olds, at Gulfstream Park on Thursday.

Trained by Ken McPeek for Silver Wing Stable, the three-year-old Big Country horse won by a neck, completing 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.19 on a track rated as fast.

Free Country won his career debut, a six-furlong maiden special weight race, on November 15 in the slop at Churchill Downs.

Bred by George Brunacini and Bona Terra Farm, the Big Country colt is out of the Wild Again mare Smyrna. With the win, Free Country boosted his earnings to $43,156.

DANGER TO SOCIETY

In another three-year-old race on the card, Danger to Society pulled away from runner-up A. P. Cardinal in the stretch to win the eighth race at Gulfstream Park, an allowance race for three-year-olds, by 3 1/2 lengths on Thursday.

Trained by Ken McPeek for Lansdon Robbins III and Samuel Delaney, Danger to Society rated in second through six furlongs under Robby Albarado before drawing away in the turn. He completed 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.16 on a track rated as fast for his second win in as many starts.

The Harlan’s Holiday colt won a one-mile maiden special weight race by 1 1/2 lengths in his career debut on November 19 at Churchill Downs.

The Harlan's Holiday colt was bred by Starlight Stables 1 and is out of the Deputy Minister mare Elrose. He has earned $48,616.
