Inside Post Challenge begins
with Fountain of Youth

Posted: Friday, February 27, 2009 10:52 AM

The revamped and improved THOROUGHBRED TIMES Inside Post Challenge, a multimedia interactive contest, begins with the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) on Saturday at Gulfstream Park and continues with 14 additional races through the Triple Crown season.

Participants will be asked to select the winners of 15 stakes races leading up to and including the Belmont Stakes (G1). Scoring for the seasonal contest is based on the official finish position of each race, with ten points earned for first, three points for second, and one point for third.

Other races in the Inside Post Challenge include such prestigious events as the Florida Derby (G1), Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1), Santa Anita Derby (G1), Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1), and Preakness Stakes (G1). The contest concludes with the Belmont Stakes on June 6 at Belmont Park.

The individual who accumulates the most points over the 15 races will be awarded a $100 cash prize, copies of the three books selected as finalists for the Dr. Tony Ryan Book Award presented by Castleton Lyons and THOROUGHBRED TIMES, and a copy of the recently released Foundation Mares by THOROUGHBRED TIMES Bloodstock Editor John P. Sparkman.

The runner-up in the Inside Post Challenge will receive a $50 cash prize and Foundation Mares.

The third-place finisher will receive Foundation Mares.

To help contestants follow the action leading up to the Triple Crown, THOROUGHBRED TIMES launched its Road to the Triple Crown website. Visit the site to sign up and view a complete list of the races in the Inside Post Challenge.
