Hoosier Park sets race dates

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission approved 63 dates of Thoroughbred racing at Hoosier Park starting July 30.

The commission also approved 80 days of harness racing. Twenty-six of the days allotted for Thoroughbred racing will include Quarter Horse racing.

Thoroughbred racing begins July 30 and runs through October 24. Racing will take place each week on a Wednesday through Sunday schedule. Post time will be 5:30 p.m. CST on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. A Labor Day card on Monday, September 6 will start at 1 p.m.

The $500,000 Indiana Derby (G2) on October 2 will be the highlight of the season.
