Maram, the upset winner of the inaugural Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf last October, will launch her three-year-old season in the $70,000 John Hettinger Stakes on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course.

The Sahm filly will be making her first start in 9 1/2 months since she edged Heart Shaped by a nose in the Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita Park. She also scored in the Miss Grillo Stakes (G3) by a neck at Belmont Park, after winning her debut on August 25 at Saratoga for trainer Chad Brown and owners Karen Woods and Saud bin Khaled.

The one-mile John Hettinger for three-year-old fillies also drew Kiawah Cat, the runner-up to Mary’s Follies in the Boiling Springs Stakes (G3) on June 27 at Monmouth Park.
Our Golden Dream will try open company after winning the Dam Little Stakes for New York-breds on July 17 at Belmont Park.

The Medaglia d’Oro filly topped the 2007 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred preferred yearling sale on a final bid of $265,000 from owners John Confort and Albert Weis.
