Grade 1 winner Dixie Chatter has been retired from racing and will stand the 2010 breeding season at Pam and Martin Wygod’s River Edge Farm near Buellton, California.

His stud fee has not yet been determined.

A four-year-old Dixie Union colt, Dixie Chatter won the 2007 Norfolk Stakes (G1) as a juvenile (video). He also captured the Arcadia Handicap (G2) in April at Santa Anita Park (video) and the ’08 Oceanside Stakes at Del Mar (video).

Trained by Richard Mandella for the Wygods and breeder Herman Sarkowsky, Dixie Chatter finished third in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Handicap (G1) on March 7. In 2008, he finished third in the Oak Tree Derby (G2), Lazaro Barrera Memorial Handicap (G3), and Affirmed Handicap (G3).

Out of the unraced Deputy Minister mare Mini Chat, Dixie Chatter won four of 13 career starts and earned $464,606.
