History of the Triple Crown video on ThoroughbredTimes.com

Posted: Friday, March 07, 2008 4:00 PM

An eight-minute online video documentary chronicling the rich history of the Triple Crown and the 11 champions that have laid claim to racing’s most prized jewel is now available on ThoroughbredTimes.com.

Complete with historic video footage, photographs, and excerpts from some of the greatest race calls ever made, the documentary offers visitors to the Thoroughbred Times website a compelling look back at the Triple Crown’s history and the power, precision, and passion that have defined it over the last 130 years.

This documentary will appeal to both Thoroughbred industry professionals and enthusiasts alike. It was written by Eclipse Award winner Mary Simon, narrated by Thoroughbred Times Managing Editor and Red Smith Award-winner Tom Law, and produced by the Thoroughbred Times Multimedia Department.  Thoroughbred Times photo editor, Sarah Dorroh, also made significant contributions to the production.

Additional videos from Churchill Downs, Pimlico Race Course, and Belmont Park including trainer interviews, workouts, and behind-the-scenes preparations, will also be available on ThoroughbredTimes.com throughout the Road to the 2008 Triple Crown series this spring.
