Big Brown morning-line favorite for final Derby Future Wager

Big Brown, the clear winner of the Florida Derby (G1) on March 29 at Gulfstream Park, is the 3-to-1 morning-line favorite for the third and final pool for the 2008 Kentucky Derby (G1) Future Wager, which opens a four-day run on Thursday.
Big Brown is a slight favorite over Pyro, the Louisiana Derby (G2) and Risen Star Stakes (G3) winner, who was tabbed the 4-to-1 second choice by Churchill Downs oddsmaker Mike Battaglia. Pyro was the 4-to-1 favorite in pool two of the Derby Future Wager, which ran from March 6 through March 9.
The $2-million Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands will be run on May 3 at Churchill.
Betting on pool three of the Derby and Kentucky Oaks Future Wagers begins at noon EDT on Thursday. The Derby pool closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Oaks pool closes 30 minutes later.
Both pools include 24 betting interests and are $2 minimum win wagers. Odds at the close of both pools will determine payoffs.
Multiple Grade 2 winner Proud Spell is the 4-to-1 morning-line favorite for pool three of the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager. Multiple Grade 1 winner Country Star is the 5-to-1 second choice.
The $500,000 Kentucky Oaks will be run on May 2 at Churchill.
