Grade 1 winner Greg’s Gold has been retired due to “wear and tear” and will be sent to Harris Farms in Coalinga, California, trainer David Hofmans said.

The seven-year-old Lake George gelding won nine of 25 starts and earned $1,067,923 in four seasons. He went out on top with a victory in his final career start as he posted a 1 3/4-length win in the Potrero Grande Handicap (G2) on April 5 at Santa Anita Park.

A three-time graded stakes winner, the Bill Boswell homebred also won the 2005 Bing Crosby Handicap (G1) and the ’07 Pat O’Brien Handicap (G2). He is out of the winning Fit to Fight mare Lake Windermere.
