No more outside post positions for Big Brown. The undefeated Boundary colt, winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) on May 3 at Churchill Downs, will break from post seven as the overwhelming 1-to-2 morning-line favorite for the Preakness Stakes (G1), the second leg of the Triple Crown on Saturday at Pimlico Race Course.

IEAH Stables's and Paul Pompa Jr.'s Big Brown broke from the far outside post, post 12, en route to a five-length victory in the Florida Derby (G1) and from post 20 in his impressive 4 3/4-length victory in the Derby.

Michael Iavarone, co-president of International Equine Acquisition Holdings, said he was not concerned with the post position for the Derby winner in the Preakness. Big Brown's trainer, Richard Dutrow Jr., was not at the Preakness post position draw on Wednesday night at the ESPNZone in Baltimore.

Gayego, the only other Derby starter in the field of 13 for the Preakness, was installed by Pimlico oddsmaker Frank Carulli as the second choice on the morning line at 8-to-1 after drawing post 12.

Coolmore Lexington Stakes (G2) winner Behindatthebar, whose connections chose to skip the Derby in favor of the Preakness, will break from post five and was pegged at 10-to-1 on the morning line.

Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) third-place finisher Kentucky Bear did not make the field for the Kentucky Derby due to insufficient graded stakes earnings. Tabbed at 15-to-1 on the morning line, Kentucky Bear will make his fourth career start in the Preakness after not racing as a two-year-old.

Kentucky Bear's trainer Reade Baker said Big Brown's convincing win in the Derby did not lead him to reconsider starting his horse in the Preakness.

“Big Brown beat a lot of horses in the Derby, but he didn’t beat us,” Reade Baker said. "We don’t need Big Brown to bounce, we just need the faster horse.”

Jockey Jeremy Rose, who won the 2005 Preakness Stakes aboard champion Afleet Alex, was pleased with post position three for Federico Tesio Stakes winner Icabad Crane, who was listed at 30-to-1 on the morning line.

“I was hoping for an inside post,” Rose said. “Being on the inside at Pimlico helps your chances. I like that the speed is outside of Big Brown. If we’re going to beat him, then a fast pace gives us the best chance.”

The field, in post-position order, with (sire), jockey, weight, trainer, and morning-line odds:

1. Macho Again (Macho Uno), Julien Leparoux, 126, Dallas Stewart, 20-to-1;

2. Tres Borrachos (Ecton Park), Tyler Baze, 126, Beau Greeley, 30-to-1;
