Shes All Eltish cruises in Bonnie Miss

by Jeff Apel

Shes All Eltish opened a four-length lead in early stretch and earned her first stakes win in a dominating 6 3/4-length victory in the $150,000 Bonnie Miss Stakes (G2) on Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

Switching back to the main track, Shes All Eltish raced in third through a half-mile in :48.36, 4 1/2 lengths behind pacesetter Overandabeauty. Quickly gaining command on the turn, Shes All Eltish continued to increase her advantage approaching the finish under jockey Eddie Castro.

“She stayed behind the speed. She was very relaxed on the backside,” Castro said. “I had a lot of horse at the three-eighths pole. She ran off at the quarter pole.”

Denholtz Stables’ She’s All Eltish moved up on the outside in the backstretch and raced in third, then second through six furlongs in 1:12.79, one length off the pace. Opening a clear advantage approaching the stretch, the Eltish filly won the 1 1/8-mile race in 1:51.80 on a track rated as fast.

Grade 2-placed stakes winner Robbies Gal finished second, three-quarters of a length in front of Grade 2-placed winner and 8-to-5 favorite Highest Class.

Marty Wolfson trains Shes All Eltish, who is nominated to the Kentucky Oaks (G1) on May 2 at Churchill Downs. Shes All Eltish entered off a runner-up finish on turf in an allowance race on March 9 at Gulfstream.

Shes All Eltish has earned three wins in seven starts and increased her earnings to $156,280. Bred by Live Oak Stud, Shes All Eltish is out of the unraced Hesabull mare Shesabullwinkle.
