Graham rides six winners on Arlington’s Thursday card
Jockey James Graham enjoyed the biggest day of his career on Thursday when he booted home six winners on the ten-race card at Arlington Park.
The 28-year-old Irish-born jockey began his victory skein with John and Harriet Mack’s Other Lady for trainer Tom Amoss in the third race; then followed with Elkhorn Oaks Racing’s Bronze Tribute for trainer Laura Jackson in the fourth; Darrell and Evelyn Yates Ltd.’s She’s Impossible for trainer Chris Richard in the seventh; Mrs. S. K. Johnston Jr.’s Sidcup for the Walter Bindner Jr. Stable in the ninth; and Hurricane Hall’s General Sherman for trainer David Hanley in the tenth race.
“I thought they all had a shot but that I’d need one or two to step up and surprise me to have a day like this,” Graham said. “Tom (Amoss) always has his horses ready and I knew Sidcup would run a big race – the others just kind of fell into place for me.”
The six wins doubled Graham’s meet total to 12 and moved him into second place in the Arlington jockey standings, four behind four-time Arlington Park leading jockey Rene Douglas.
