Williams records 4,000th career win at Fonner Park on Friday

Jockey Rob Williams recorded his 4,000th career victory on Friday at Fonner Park when he guided Sweet Evil Hariet to a 3 3/4-length score in the ninth race.

Williams rated the five-year-old Kandaly mare from off the pace in the early stages of the 6 1/2-furlong claiming race for fillies and mares and Sweet Evil Hariet drove clear in the stretch to secure the victory.

A son of Dean Williams, a retired chart caller for the Daily Racing Form who is a member of the Nebraska Horse Racing Hall of Fame, Rob Williams moved within one win of the milestone win with a 2 1/4-length score aboard Just Rulo in the opener.

In 1991, Williams enjoyed a stellar season by guiding Falls Amiss to wins in the Lady Canterbury (G3) and Queen's (G3) Handicaps and recording a win with Erica's Dream in the Ak-Sar-Ben Oaks (G3).
