Flying Glitter sails to clear win in Indiana Breeders' Cup Oaks

Nancy and Richard Kaster's Flying Glitter recorded her second consecutive Grade 3 win with a 1 1/2-length score under jockey Robby Albarado in the Indiana Breeders' Cup Oaks (G3) at Hoosier Park on Friday.

The dark bay or brown daughter of Glitterman surged to the lead from the start, kicked clear to a comfortable advantage and held off a late rally from runner-up Eyes On Eddy to prevail. The Ronny Werner-trained Flying Glitter completed the 1 1/16-mile race for three-year-old fillies in 1:44.10. She entered the race off a 3 3/4-length win in the Monmouth Breeders' Cup Oaks (G3) at Monmouth Park on August 14.

Eyes on Eddy was 1 1/2 lengths clear of Grade 3 winner Miss Matched who finished third. Grade 2 winner and 3-to-2 favorite R Lady Joy stalked the early pace, but failed to fire in the stretch and faded to fourth.

Bred in Kentucky, Flying Glitter is out of American Flier, by Quiet American.
