Bing Crosby winner Greg's Gold out for year

Bing Crosby Handicap (G1) winner Greg's Gold will miss the remainder of the year due to a bone chip in his left knee.

The four-year-old Lake George gelding had been a candidate for the Ancient Title Breeders' Cup Handicap (G1) on October 8 at Santa Anita Park.

"He'll have surgery this weekend and be out three or four months," trainer David Hofmans said.

Greg's Gold scored a 1¼-length win in the Bing Crosby on July 11 at Del Mar in his graded stakes debut. He has four wins in 13 career starts and earnings of $350,928 for owner-breeder William Boswell.
