Biancone to stable star-studded squad at Turfway Park

Trainer Patrick Biancone has chosen to stable 24 of his horses at Turfway Park though October to train over the Florence, Kentucky, facility's recently unveiled Polytrack surface.

Among the horses expected to take residence at Turfway are Grade 1 winners Pomeroy, Angara (GB), and Luas Line (Ire), as well as promising Grade 2 winning juvenile Henny Hughes and improving Grade 3 winning juvenile Stream Cat.

Biancone could send seven or more horses from his Turfway stable to the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships on October 29 at Belmont Park.

"A few may go," Biancone said. "We will decide after their next races. The [all weather] track is going to be perfect to keep them in good condition, keep them sound for the big day."

Stream Cat won the Kentucky Cup Juvenile (G3) on September 17 at Turfway, prompting Biancone's decision to bring many of his charges to the track to prepare for the upcoming Keeneland Race Course meeting as well as the Breeders' Cup.

"We really want to use the facility," Biancone said. "I like it very much; it's a lovely surface. The Keeneland meet is the biggest in the country, so we want to keep them ready and win a few races."
