Front-running Beau Dare wins Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies

David Walt's Stable's Beau Dare settled in nicely on the lead under jockey John McKee in her first stakes attempt and responded with a rush when roused in a 6 1/4-length romp on Saturday in the $100,000 Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes at Turfway Park.

The two-year-old daughter of Military shot out of the starting gate and dashed quickly to the front, opening up by 1 1/2 lengths through an opening quarter in :23.45. McKee was able to relax his mount once she powered to the front and slowed Beau Dare into a comfortable gallop in the one-mile race.

Beau Dare, trained by Robert Holthus, sailed through six furlongs in 1:13.82 before McKee called upon the bay filly. When asked for her best run, Beau Dare shook free of the field with an eager burst en route to a convincing triumph, completing the circuit in 1:38.93 over a fast Polytrack surface.

Delicate Dynamite rallied from more than nine lengths off the pace for the place, while Grade 3-placed Joint Effort edged 1.30-to-1 favorite Fast Deal by a neck for third.

Beau Dare finished a well-beaten fourth in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race on the dirt in her career debut at Saratoga Race Course on July 28. She turned in a much-improved effort when stretching out to one mile on the turf at Arlington Park on August 26, drawing clear to prevail by 2 3/4 lengths.

Her career earnings are $79,250.

Bred in Kentucky by Mike Walts, Beau Dare is out of the Beau Genius mare Gen Corp Purposes.
