Blood-Horse sales director Hurst dies at 51

Blood-Horse Publications sales director Jim Hurst Jr. died on August 11 after 23 years with the company. He was 51.

Hurst began with the company in 1983 as an advertising sales representative. He left the company for five years to pursue other ventures before returning in 1992.

The Blood-Horse named Hurst director of sales in February sales to utilize his close relationships with clients to help provide total marketing solutions and shape the company’s products, services, and programs.

Hurst is survived by his wife, Jennifer Reese Hurst, and two daughters, Madison Hurst and Mollie Hurst, both of Lexington.

The funeral service has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, with the burial at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, 4915 Harrodsburg Road, Nicholasville, Kentucky., following the service.
