Cunningham’s Hillcrest Farm to be auctioned

Posted: Thursday, April 07, 2011 12:41 PM

Shirley Cunningham Jr.’s Hillcrest Farm in Georgetown, Kentucky, will be auctioned under order of the U.S. Marshals Service on April 29.

The 160-acre property includes four homes, three barns, and 40 stalls and is valued at $3.4-million, according to LPS Auction Solutions, which will conduct the sale.

Cunningham, a former lawyer, has appealed his 2009 sentence of 20 years in prison related to the Fen-phen diet drug case. He and Bill Gallion, his partner in the Midnight Cry Stable that campaigned Horse of the Year Curlin and Grade 1 winner Einstein (Brz), were ordered to pay $127-million to plaintiffs and $30-million to the federal government.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, an order of forfeiture that prevented the property from being sold during the appeal has been amended to allow the auction of the property.

The farm was listed through Bill Justice’s Justice Real Estate and will be available for viewing on April 17 and 24 from 2 p.m. EDT to 5 p.m. and two hours prior to the 6 p.m. auction.

Greed by the unscrupolous continues to amaze me. Stealing money's from those whose health suffered so severely is deservedly a one way ticket to h***. Not to worry though you'll have plenty of your peers [lawyers] to 'sweat to the oldies' with !!!

I pray that the people who are going after this man for 127 million dollars start to understand what personal accountability is.
