Jockey Farley dies in auto accident

Jockey Joseph Farley, 20, died following a one-car accident Saturday morning. Farley was driving to Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Pennsylvania.

Vernon Rings, Farley’s agent, told Daily Racing Form that police suspected excessive speed as the cause of the accident.

Farley rode primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region since turning professional in 2007. He had 140 career wins from 1,770 mounts that earned $2,833,677.

SO SAD TO HEAR THIS NEWS. HE WAS A PROMISING YOUNG MAN WITH A TALENT TO RIDE.
