Professional horseplayer Pete Fornatale will attempt to wager on every race and every track around the world offered through TwinSpires.com, the official online wagering site of Churchill Downs Inc., on Friday with all net winnings going to The Race for Education.
Starting with racing from Lingfield Park in Surrey, England, at roughly 9 a.m. EDT and ending with racing from Los Alamitos, Fornatale is scheduled to wager on 55 different race tracks and over 450 races.
Daily Racing Form and TwinSpires.com each have pledged a minimum of $500 to the effort.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” Fornatale said. “With TwinSpiresTV and the power of the Internet, wagering on every race offered is now a possibility. I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully raising some money for The Race for Education.”
TwinSpires.com will host a live stream of the event via Ustream (www.ustream.tv), where viewers will be able watch Fornatale’s fast-paced attempt, keep an eye on his bankroll, and participate via chat. Fans wishing to participate should visit www.twinspires.com beginning at 9 a.m. EDT for access to the live event.
“We are very excited to have Pete go after this achievement as it showcases the vast array of betting and racing options we have available at TwinSpires.com,” TwinSpires.com Vice President of Marketing Jeremy Clemons said. “Hopefully, the combination of racing information and wagering tools available at TwinSpires.com will assist Pete in his attempt to raise money for The Race for Education.”
The Race For Education enables children of low-income horse industry families, as well as children who want to pursue a horse-related careers, to pursue a college degree by providing tuition support.
