Riversrunrylee named New England Horse of the Year

L and D Farm’s homebred Riversrunrylee, a stakes winner at Suffolk Downs last season, was named the 2009 James B. Moseley Horse of the Year by the New England Turf Writers Association at its 68th annual awards dinner on Thursday in Danvers, Massachusetts.
A six-year-old Outflanker gelding trained by Juan Camilo, Riversrunrylee won four of 11 starts last season, including two wins at Suffolk.
The New England Turf Writers inducted its 2010 Hall of Fame class on Thursday. The 2010 inductees include 1983 Massachusetts Handicap (G2) winner Let Burn, trainer Bruce G. Smith, jockey Denise Boudrot, owner-breeder Charles Assimakopoulos’ Yasou Stable Trust, and reporter Gerry Sullivan.
