Former Grayson-Jockey Club executive director dies

Edward Ford, a veterinarian and politician who served as executive director of the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation for 12 years, died on July 2 in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He was 80.

Ford left his private practice in Cynthiana and became director of research and executive director of the equine research foundation. He was a state senator from 1978 to 1994 and cabinet secretary under Governor Paul Patton.
