For the second time this year, the auction date of the Maryland Jockey Club properties has been pushed back.
The new time and date will be 9 a.m. on February 10 at a New York law office. Maryland Jockey Club, which includes Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course, is being sold as part of the Magna Entertainment Corp. bankruptcy.
The United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware, announced that the Maryland Jockey Club auction, scheduled for Thursday, had been adjourned to the new February 10 date. Originally, a January 8 auction date had been scheduled.
At least five bidders are expected to participate in the February 10 auction, including former owner Joe De Francis, Jeff Seder’s Blow Horn Equity, real estate developer Cordish Co., racino operator Penn National Gaming Inc., and Under Armour Chairman Kevin Plank.
After the auction, a court hearing before Judge Mary Walrath will be conducted on February 26 to consider sale terms.
